Biomechanically this so called shoulder exercise will cause impingement of the bicep tendon and high shearing forces on the joint capsule. For the lay person this means that you will cause yourself permanent damage to the bicep tendon and the capsule that supports the shoulder joint. Try a dumbell scaption instead, safe, effective and functional all at the same time.

As someone who is obsessed with always exercising with the utmost perfection ensuring safety and consistency I am amazed at what I saw. A doctor,(chiropractor) who judging by his bulging arms must know how to exercise, doing one of the most dangerous exercises for the shoulder. Not only was he doing this exercise but he did it on a machine which exponentially increases the BAD forces placed on the joint. I find it ironic that this doctor runs a “pain and rehabilitation clinic”. Just goes to show you that even those who are supposed to know do not know. But, he has big arms so I guess that makes him knowledgeable on exercise.
